The other day after posting “Daimonji: Kyoto's\nLeast-Photogenic Festival<\/a>”, Nicolas Joannin alerted me to the photos a\nfriend<\/span> of his took during last year's festival: Yaron Silberberg's Daimonji Fire Festival gallery<\/a><\/p>\n\n

With Yaron's kind permission, I can share<\/span> just how wrong I was<\/span> in my first post's title...<\/p>\n\n

The bonfire areas are open to the public most of the year (my blog\nphotos from\nthat area<\/a>), but are understandably restricted on the day of the burn.\nYaron's photos really make it come alive. If I ever<\/span> get a chance<\/span> to photograph the event from the same vantage point, I can only<\/span> hope to get such great results.
