I've been busy with my Lightroom plugin\nstuff<\/a> all weekend, so just a simple<\/span> post today on some pretty flowers\nfound among the moss during a recent<\/span> visit to the Gioji\nTemple<\/a> (\u7947\u738b\u5bfa)<\/span> in Kyoto.<\/p>\n\n

We'll start with what I assume is some hydrangea (ajisai<\/i> · \u30a2\u30b8\u30b5\u30a4) just beginning to bloom...<\/p>\n\n

It frankly doesn't look much in the small thumbnail, but clicking\nthrough to the larger version has the tiny buds in the center come alive\nlike stars in a nebulae<\/span> (or something like that).<\/p>\n\n

I tried a side-view approach to get the petals edge on, and I shouldn't<\/span> have been surprised\nwhen it caused the result to fall flat....<\/p>\n\n

I paused to sit on the steps to a small<\/span> building and found myself looking at this fence.<\/p>\n\n

And over to one side saw a few potted flowers....<\/p>\n\n

The pink fuzz in there was seen in “Rich Colors: A Good<\/span> Start to an Amazing Day in Kyoto<\/a>”.<\/p>\n\n

The yellow flowers made great fodder for depth-of-field fun, along the\nlines of the previous post (“Little Orange\nMushrooms and Depth-of-Field Comparisons<\/a>”), so here are a few<\/span> shots of\nthe same flower seen at the start of this post, from the same vantage\npoint. The only differences<\/span> among them from a composition<\/span> point of view\nare: 1)<\/b> how close I was<\/span> to the flower, 2)<\/b> where I placed<\/span> the\nfocus, and 3<\/b> the aperture size.<\/p>\n\n\n
