While there, <span class='nobr'>I noticed<\/span> the few other presets <span class='nobr'>I had<\/span> accumulated over the years, and gave\nthem <span class='nobr'>a try<\/span> with this photo.<\/p>\n\n<p>The most recent one was &#8220;Creamy Autumn Wow&#8221; Preset<\/span>\n<br\/>not really doing it for me\n<\/div>\n\n<p>I also tried the first Lightroom develop preset <span class='nobr'>I ever<\/span> made, one that attempted to match the at-the-time-vogue look of\nDave Hill's work, as seen <a href='\/blog\/2008-03-18\/768#048798'>here<\/a> and <a\nhref='\/blog\/2008-05-26\/824#052202dhl'>here<\/a> (the former from <span class='nobr'>a post<\/span> exactly four years ago today, on\nthe <a href='\/blog\/2008-03-18\/768'>annual Kyoto Higashiyama &#8220;Hanatoro&#8221; Preset<\/span>\n<br\/>also not doing it for me\n<\/div>\n\n<p>These misses just go to show that not all presets are appropriate for all images (though with the extreme nature of\nthese, you wouldn't be faulted for thinking that they're not appropriate for <i>any<\/i> images, but <span class='nobr'>I like<\/span> their effects\nfrom time to time, in extreme moderation).<\/p>\n\n<p>One of the &#8220;time to time&#8221; situations is the <a\nhref='\/blog\/2011-02-16\/1706#JF7_032534_colored_pencil_jpg'>photo of mounted archer<\/a> printed and\nframed in my office (as seen in &#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/2011-02-16\/1706\" class='pt'>Dabbling in Some Fine-Art\nPrinting for My Office<\/a>&#8221;). <span class='nobr'>The preset<\/span> <span class='nobr'>I used<\/span> for that, named unoriginally as &#8220;Funky Archer&#8221;, produced this:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class='ic tight'><a href='\/i\/JF7_108110fa.jpg'\n><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/i\/JF7_108110fa_sm.jpg\" width=\"466\" height=\"700\"\nalt=\"\"\nid=\"i108110fa\"\/><\/a>\n<br\/><span class=\"camera-info robots-nocontent\">Nikon D700 + Nikkor 300mm f\/2 &mdash;
