Wow, time flies... now that there's a Lightroom 4<\/span> beta<\/a> out, I'm really<\/span> ramping up the work to\nupgrade\nmy Lightroom plugins<\/a> appropriately, and have barely had time to come up for air, and so I was<\/span> a bit<\/span>\nsurprised when I noticed<\/span> today that it's been five days since my previous post. So, here's the part-two follow-on to\n“Traditional Japanese Archery: More Ladies, Part 1<\/a>”.<\/p>\n\n

I'll start out with the original photo from which the previous post's “Tall Tale” lead photo<\/a>\nwas derived...<\/p>\n\n

In that “Tall Tale” photo I had<\/span> fun stitching together two unrelated\nshots, but in the end, even after all that work, I think<\/span> I like<\/span> the\noriginal better... the bow somehow seems even larger and more impressive. I did go<\/span> ahead and remove a rope<\/span> from the background, though, as I did<\/span> for\nthe “Tall Tale” the other day.<\/p>\n\n

As I explained earlier in “Total Discipline: Anatomy of\na Japanese<\/span> Archer\u2019s Shot<\/a>”, the main event of the day was for ranked\narchers who had become legal adults (20 years old) in the previous year,\nand the lady above was the 2,132nd and final among them. This was followed\nby some archery\ninstructors<\/a>, then the playoffs for each the men and women.<\/p>\n\n

In the shot above, we see an appearance of the archer featured earlier in “Badass Japanese Archery: Now It's The Ladies' Turn<\/a>”, as well as another example of how focusing on the tip of the arrow just doesn't work well.<\/p>\n\n

As I explained in earlier posts, I had a<\/span> difficult time following the\nplayoff rounds, but I think<\/span> the three ladies in the shot above placed\nsecond, third, and fourth, with the winner having been decided in the\nprevious round. I'm sure the<\/span> winner is seen in one of the photos above, but\nunfortunately,\nI couldn't<\/span> guess which she is.<\/p>\n\n\n
