This must be what my mystery fan\nreferred to in his <a href=\"\/blog\/2006-05-10\/191\">kind\nmessage to me<\/a> this morning.\n\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\n\nIt turns out that I'd introduced <span class='nobr'>a bug<\/span> into my comment-processing mechanism\nthe other day. <span class='nobr'>It's fixed<\/span> now, but <span class='nobr'>I really<\/span> can't apologize enough. <span class='nobr'>The poor guy<\/span> tried to submit his &#8220;<a class='quiet'\nhref=\"\/blog\/2006-05-10\/191\">you're <span class='nobr'>a jackass<\/span><\/a>&#8221;\ncomment <b>11 times<\/b>, and after it failing through no fault of his own,\nyou certainly can't begrudge him the subsequent &#8220;you suck&#8221; he\ntacked on.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nMy sister tried to submit a comment <span class='nobr'>a few<\/span> times, after which she sent the email. <span class='nobr'>The comment<\/span> was about the &#8220;you're <span class='nobr'>a jackass<\/span>&#8221; post, and was to the effect\nthat &#8220;Well, <span class='nobr'>I guess<\/span> Mom has an email account now....&#8221;. Ouch! <b>\ud83d\ude42<\/b>\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nOtherwise, the failed-comment log had only spam comments, all of which were\nrejected due to the bug, but would have been rejected anyway due to my\nanti-spam stuff. There were about 120 per day.
