You can't blindly change from <b>v3<\/b>\nto <b>v4<\/b> because <b>v3<\/b> is intended to be used with -0.5EV of\nexposure compensation in Lightroom, while <b>v4<\/b> somehow gets around\nthat. (<span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> recall exactly why <b>v3<\/b> required the exposure\ncompensation, but <span class='nobr'>I remember<\/span> understanding that it was <span class='nobr'>a problem<\/span> that could\nnot easily be solved in place, but perhaps with <span class='nobr'>a code<\/span> change in <span class='nobr'>Lightroom\n3.6,<\/span> they can now handle it without requiring the artificial compensation\nadjustment).<\/p>\n\n<p>In any case, <b>v4<\/b> (and <b>v3<\/b>) are far superior to <b>v2<\/b> and\nearlier, so if you have images from <span class='nobr'>a D300,<\/span> D700, or D3, <span class='nobr'>I recommend<\/span> upgrading when you can.
