The final post on my old Yahoo! manager's visit to Kyoto (part 1<\/a>, part 2<\/a>). On his last<\/span> full\nday in Kyoto we visited the Arashiyama area on the far western edge of the\ncity, and rented small battery-assisted bicycles. We didn't really need the battery assist,\nbut it was nice. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

The sign above (showing a crude illustration of the kamikaze one-way\none-man submarine) used to be accompanied by a\nlarge<\/span> marble monument<\/a> with an engraved photograph, and if I recall,<\/span> one of the actual subs. An\nodd thing<\/span> to find by the side of the street. Now\nthe sub<\/span> is in Hiroshima, and only the sign remains.<\/p>\n\n

The lady in the photo above came behind me to take a picture,<\/span> and seeing that the lane was clear, I stepped<\/span> behind her to give her a clean<\/span> shot. Then I took<\/span> mine, but someone had just started to step in\nfrom the opposite side, but I banished<\/span> them with Lightroom's spot-healing tool. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n
