For the past two Thursdays I've headed out on photo expeditions to the\ntwisty rural mountain roads of Uji City (southeast of Kyoto) with\nShimada-san and Paul Barr. Today we'll switch it up and hit some mountain villages\nto the north of Kyoto, but I've still got so much from the earlier trips I want<\/span> to post.\nSince we're leaving in a few<\/span> minutes, I'll just post a few<\/span> quick shots from the first trip,\nwhich has already yielded “Scenes From Rural Japan: Mountain Village in Uji City<\/a>”\nand “Rural Uji's Kiyotakigyuu Shrine<\/a>”, among others...<\/p>\n\n

While driving through a deeply-forested mountain road, we came upon an\narea that was eerily bright. It was slightly<\/span> surreal, but I don't<\/span> think I\ncaptured<\/span> the effect in the shot above.<\/p>\n\n
