When I stopped to photograph the large blossoms<\/a> seen in last month's\n“Signs of Spring Start to Bud in Kyoto<\/a>”, on the same outing that yielded\n“Stark Tree<\/a>”\nand\n“Still a Bit<\/span> Of Snow In Kyoto<\/a>”, I also snapped<\/span> pictures of the fields visible off the side of the road. I think<\/span> they're pretty and so intended to post them with the other photos from the outing, but realized today that I had<\/span> prepared them but not posted them, so here they are.<\/p>\n\n

The Japanese landscape can be brutally ugly with utility poles and wires\neverywhere, but at the same time is full of beauty on both the macro and micro scales.<\/p>\n\n

Chances are slim that I would have ever visited any of the many towns\nwiped off the face of the earth by the tsunami the other day, but in\nlooking at these pictures today a thought<\/span> came to me lamenting that now\nI'll never have the chance to visit them and photograph their particular\nbeauty, and I felt<\/span> thoroughly selfish for it.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
