At the end of my previous post<\/a>, I showed<\/span> an odd tree... very tall without branches, except at the top a rat's<\/span> nest\nof tightly bunched twigs and cones. Futzing around in Lightroom with a shot<\/span>\nof the top of the tree, I came across<\/span> a fairly<\/span> stark monochrome version\nthat struck me as interesting enough to give it a try<\/span> as a desktop<\/span> background.<\/p>\n\n

Prior to happening upon that, I had a<\/span> “stylized” version that I sort<\/span> of liked...<\/p>\n\n\n

I don't often venture into these non-realistic versions unless I'm doing\nsomething specific (such as this<\/a>, this<\/a>, this<\/a> and this<\/a>), but I often<\/span> run\ninto interesting results while testing my various Lightroom\nplugins<\/a>: I sometimes<\/span> need to quickly generate a version<\/span> of a photo<\/span> that\nis visually distinct from other copies I've tested with, so I'll\nhaphazardly slap around the develop-setting sliders to create something\nwacky, like\nthis<\/a>,\nthis<\/a>, and\nthis<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

I've got a few such freaky\/interesting items in my (way too long) to-post-about list.<\/p>\n\n
