The flood of photo opportunities I enjoyed<\/span> last November at the start of\nKyoto's fall-foliage season began with a visit<\/span> to the Kongourinji Temple in\nShiga. I posted<\/span> about it in “First Taste of Fall\nColors<\/a>” and “Deep Sorrow at the\nKongourinji Temple's Path of Jizou<\/a>”, but the aforementioned flood\nhas kept me from following up with the main attractions from the visit.<\/p>\n\n

The main stuff still awaits, but today's post moves us one step closer.<\/p>\n\n

The path to the temple's main garden leads through an area that seems as pretty as a small<\/span>\ngarden in its own right...<\/p>\n\n

I took that photo from the spot holding the first of the 1,000 jizou (\u5730\u8535)<\/span><\/a> statues\ndescribed in the previous path of jizou<\/i><\/a> post...<\/p>\n\n

The path continues inside the wall for a while<\/span> before it opens up to the main garden.\nAt first, it runs alongside a small<\/span> stream...<\/p>\n\n

I tried a shot zoomed up a bit, exposing for the leaves outside in the\nbackground, and after some heavy massaging in Lightroom got\nsomething<\/i>, though I don't<\/span> know what...<\/p>\n\n
