Having\nmoved <a href=\"\/blog\/2008-02-02\/710\">from this setup<\/a> to one now with\ntwo widescreen monitors, <span class='nobr'>I decided<\/span> to put the extra monitor <i>on its side<\/i>, vertically,\nso that the long edge is up and down.\n(You can see it in <a href=\"\/blog\/2011-02-16\/1706\">this photo<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n<p>So, now having one portrait-oriented monitor, <span class='nobr'>I suddenly<\/span> had no photos\nto use as its desktop background. Especially since it's the &#8220;extra&#8221;\nmonitor, and by default will be unused unless I'm doing something\nparticular with it, <span class='nobr'>I wanted<\/span> to have some nice photos to cycle through on\nthe background, so <span class='nobr'>I quickly<\/span> and skimmed through the portrait-oriented\nphotos I'd posted in the past and somewhat haphazardly picked <span class='nobr'>a bunch<\/span> to\nmake desktop-background images with.<\/p>\n\n<p>I'm not quite sure whether all of these will work out well in practice, but for what it's worth,\nhere they are, an even 60 I've kept an eye out for scenes that might be appropriate for <span class='nobr'>a\nvertical<\/span> desktop, so once <span class='nobr'>I get<\/span> around to posting about recent outings in\nmore detail, <span class='nobr'>I'm sure there<\/span> will be plenty of fall-foliage vertical\ndesktops.
