Today is a national holiday of some sort in Japan, so we took a drive<\/span>\nout to the mountains to take some photos for our Christmas and New-Year's<\/a> cards. We wanted<\/span> to go somewhere pretty but uncrowded, and since it was a mad<\/span> house\nin Kyoto, we headed out to the same area as in my previous post, “Beating the Crowds\nat the Middle-of-Nowhere Sokushouji Temple<\/a>”. We got our<\/span> photos, and\nsince we were in the neighborhood, I wanted<\/span> to show Fumie and Anthony the\ntemple...<\/p>\n\n\n

I'd ventured to the top with Shimada-san when I came<\/span> the other day, and\nso with all the photos from three trips in two weeks, a full<\/span> writeup on\nthis place is definitely on my to-do list, but today, this short excursion\nwas the extent of out visit. (It was only 2:30pm, but it was already\ngetting dark nestled in this cranny of the mountain.)<\/p>\n\n
