Yesterday on the way to the gym, Katsunori\nShimada and <span class='nobr'>I stopped<\/span> by the outside grounds of <span class='nobr'>a small<\/span> temple in the\nYamashina ward of Kyoto (the <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.taleofgenji.org\/zuishin-in.html\">Zuishin-in Temple<\/a>) to see their plum blossoms.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nPlum blossoms bloom a bit earlier than the cherry blossoms. They\nreally must be experienced firsthand. (<span class='nobr'>I did<\/span> give <span class='nobr'>a go<\/span> last year trying to\ncapture the beauty with <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2005-04-12\/11\">poetry about cherry\nblossoms<\/a>, which you might enjoy.)\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nToday it was warm and sunny, and we thought that the cherry blossoms around\nour place would explode into bloom, but they haven't quite yet. <span class='nobr'>The buds are<\/span> all there and just starting to open, so <span class='nobr'>I expect<\/span> they'll start blooming\nin the next day or three.
