We're back in Kyoto for a month now, but it seems I've forgotten to post this summer's picture of Anthony in front of\nthe tree he planted at 1 year old<\/a> at my folks' place in Ohio. I try to<\/span> get a photo<\/span> with him each year, such as at six<\/a> years old,<\/span>\nfour<\/a> years old,<\/span>\nand three<\/a> years old).<\/span><\/p>\n\n

His tree is the evergreen, which though it's hard to see, almost reaches the top of the frame.<\/p>\n\n

The other tree's broad leaves had some beads of water that I'd not quite seen before...<\/p>\n\n

I had my Voigtl\u00e4nder 125mm f\/2.5<\/a> macro lens, so gave it a try<\/span> with the odd refractions\ncoming from the droplets...<\/p>\n\n\n

Anthony was not at all interested in this...<\/p>\n\n

He wanted to drive the tractor (which means he sits on my lap and\nsteers, while I work<\/span> the pedals), so I put<\/span> the camera away and off we\nheaded toward the barn where the tractor goes. We passed<\/span> the lake, which I always<\/span>\nfind photogenic....<\/p>\n\n

... and eventually reach the barn to park. My mom's got lots of flowers\naround everywhere, which are also photogenic and quite challenging because\nthe colors are often so\nbold<\/a> or delicate<\/a> or\nfleeting<\/a>, and next to the barn\nwere these puff-balls of small flowers...<\/p>\n\n

Some of the puffs were slightly off-white green, and others were a\nmore<\/span>-greenish creamy off-white green, but every time I look<\/span> at them on\nscreen the color seems wrong. They're still pretty...<\/p>\n\n

Somehow mixing in some creamy bokeh<\/i><\/a> makes a better<\/span> match for the creamy color...<\/p>\n\n
