Just under three months ago, I ended<\/span> my\n“Snowy New Year Trip Day Three: Dam Snow<\/a>” post with the photo above,\nand a note<\/span> that I hoped<\/span> it would not take three months for the followup. Looks like I just<\/span> made it under the wire.<\/p>\n\n

We'd taken a walk during a heavy snow from our lodge (seen here<\/a>) to the\nKomaki Dam (seen in the background behind Anthony in this picture<\/a>; Wikipedia\nentry<\/a>). This post picks up from when we arrived at the east side of\nthe dam, and started walking across it.<\/p>\n\n

The snow was at times extremely heavy almost to the point of whiteout, except that there was\nno wind...<\/p>\n\n

It was a fun (and quite safe) walk across, with me enjoying the views\nand Anthony enjoying all the undisturbed fresh snow (that didn't stay undisturbed for long in his presence).<\/p>\n\n

Along the whole walk, whenever we passed under a tree<\/span> branch heavily\nladen with snow, he liked to stand under it while I knock<\/span> the snow off (like this<\/a>). This\nparticular time he had a baby<\/span> snowball pet “pu-chan”, as described\nhere<\/a>...<\/p>\n\n

The road back on the west side of the river was through a small<\/span> sleepy community....<\/p>\n\n
