\n\nI'm still sluggish from my\ncold<\/a>, but nevertheless, tomorrow we're all leaving for George Town, on\nPenang Island in Malaysia, to visit Fumie's Dad who is there on a long<\/span>-term\nwork assignment.\n\n(You can see George Town on the far left of\nthis\nmap<\/a>)\n\n<\/p>\n

\n\nFive of us (Fumie and Anthony and I, Fumie's mom, and Fumie's brother\nShogo) take a shuttle<\/span> to Kansai International, then fly to Kuala Lumpur\n(about 7 hours) and on to Penang (another hour). Shogo is staying only\nthree days; the rest of us stay ten days.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\nIt's at about 5 degrees north latitude and hot and humid and forecast<\/a> to rain\nevery single day we're there, although apparently the rain comes and goes\n-- it's not a 24<\/span>\/7 incessant drizzle like Japan's rainy season.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nWe're flying Malaysia\nAirlines<\/a>, which will be the first time in almost 10 years for me to fly\na new<\/span> airline. This got me thinking about the various airlines I've flown --\nhere are the ones I can<\/span> remember:\n\n<\/p>\n\n
<\/td>\n All Nippon Airways\nAmerican Airlines\nAmerica West  (added July 2006)<\/small>\nAsiana\nBangkok Air\nCathay Pacific Airways\nContinental Airlines\nDelta Airlines\nIndian Air\nJapan Airlines\nKorean Air\nMalaysia Air  (added March 2006)<\/small>\nMidwest Airlines\nNorthwest Airlines\nPam-Am\nPeople Express\nReno Air\nSingapore Air\nSouthwest\nThai Air\nUnited Airlines\nUnited Express\nUSAir\n<\/td><\/tr><\/table>\n\n

\n\nI have a vague memory of flying Lufthansa as well, but can't pin it down.\nThere are probably others that I can't<\/span> remember at all.\n\n<\/p>
