A great blue heron was sitting on a fence<\/span> by the canal this morning when\nI walked<\/span> Anthony to his bus stop, and thinking it was Aotan the Heron<\/a> that I\nposted<\/span> about a few<\/span> years ago, I fetched<\/span> my camera to do a followup<\/span> post.<\/p>\n\n

After comparing pictures from before, I don't<\/span> think it's the same bird. He was equally<\/span> unfazed by me, though. Perhaps it's the same one as in my\n”Great Wet\nHeron<\/a>” post? There are a lot<\/span> of herons around.<\/p>\n\n\n

It's a popular area for jogging, with one lap around the block being\nabout a 410m<\/span> (a quarter<\/span> mile), and not requiring the crossing of any\nstreets. Some kids were approaching, so I ran<\/span> out (with my zoom) to meet\nthem...<\/p>\n\n
