This morning I heard a duck outside that sounded more like the jarring\nalarm that a telephone<\/span> makes when it's been left off the hook too long. I looked<\/span> out to see a mommy<\/span> duck with six fuzzy babies slowly making their\nway down the river.<\/p>\n\n

This is exactly the spot that the movie crew seen in the “Just One More and\nWe'll Call it a Wrap<\/span><\/a>” post was filming. It would<\/span> have been fortuitous\nif the duckies had come when they were here.<\/p>\n\n

After the mommy went, she started making that insistent off-the-hook\nsound again, and I realized<\/span> that it's her calling her babies to her. To get to<\/span> this part of the river, they had to come down a four<\/span>-foot waterfall just\nup from where I first<\/span> noticed them, so the sound I heard<\/span> had been her\ncalling them to her after that.<\/p>\n\n
