I gave my new Sigma\n“Bigma” 50-500mm superzoom<\/a> a shot<\/span> in the dark (so to speak) yesterday\nevening, and while looking through the results today, came across this\nthrow-away shot of a spotlight<\/span> at a rock<\/span> garden. The photo<\/span> is wholly unremarkable\nexcept for some very weird indistinct wavy parallel tracks that can be seen\nin the full-resolution version<\/a>, as\nif snails had been sledding over the rocks.<\/p>\n\n

But it's not sledding snails. Can you explain<\/span> the wavy lines?<\/p>\n\n

(The high-resolution version was exported from Lightroom in its raw “as\nimported” state, without any post processing. Normally on a shot<\/span> like this my post processing\nwould consist of the 'x' key (delete), but on a shot<\/span> like this that was worth saving, I'd normally<\/span> add some luminance noise reduction, because the D700's low-light ability\nat ISO6400 is good, but not that<\/i> good.)<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
