I was washing the windows in the living room this afternoon, and\nhappened to glance out to see a small<\/span> troupe from yesterday's movie shoot for “Mother Water”\n\n \u300c\u30de\u30b6\u30fc\u30a6\u30a9\u30fc\u30bf\u30fc\u300d<\/span><\/a>\n\nsetting up shop just below my balcony, to get a short<\/span> scene of the water\nflowing over a waterfall<\/span> (the very tiny... two or three inches... waterfall\nseen here<\/a>). I put the<\/span> Windex™ down and grabbed my camera, hoping to get a better<\/span>\nlook at theirs.<\/p>\n\n\n

I was able to see that it's a Panavision 24<\/span>-275 T2.8 11X Primo\nZoom<\/b>, which is apparently quality of the highest order. Despite\nextensive searching, I was not<\/span> able to find a price<\/span> on it... I think<\/span> Panavision simply doesn't sell them... they rent them. Prices around the\nworld ranged from US$460 in Hong Kong, to US$960 in Australia. To rent. For one day<\/span>. Just the lens.<\/p>\n\n\n

I thought that the lady in the light-colored hoodie (at right in the\nphoto above) might be the\n34-year-old writer\/director<\/a> due to the deference others showed her, but\nI didn't<\/span> get a good<\/span> picture, so it's hard to tell.<\/p>\n\n

I went down and chatted again with the lead production assistant, who\ntold me that today was the final day of filming. I had the<\/span> impression from\nhis tone that this was the last shot, but I didn't<\/span> hear any kind of\n“That's a wrap!<\/span><\/i>” or other celebratory words, so maybe\nthey still had another shot elsewhere in the evening.<\/p>\n\n
