The weather has been miserable lately — cold and rainy, with\npossible snow tomorrow — but the cherry blossoms have started\nblooming already, a week<\/span> earlier than normal. You can see<\/span> the normal season\nfor the trees near my place in the month-long cherry-blossom\ntime-lapse<\/a> from a few<\/span> years ago. It stopped<\/span> drizzling for a bit<\/span> late\nthis afternoon, so I went<\/span> out for a picture.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

My main intent this afternoon was to try to get something that\nhighlighted that one tree had absolutely no blossoms yet, while the trees\nnext to it were well on their way. (You can see in the timelapse that the\nleftmost tree lags the others by a few<\/span> days, though this year the contrast\nseems much more stark.)<\/p>\n\n\n

And playing around with the new point-curve feature of Lightroom 3<\/span> Beta 2<\/a>, I gave the<\/span> monochrome stark look a try.<\/span>..<\/p>\n\n
