This is the final installment about taking Anthony skiing<\/a>,\nwhere we he skied for the first time, and together we did lots of sledding<\/a>, and\nhad fun watching others\nsled<\/a> and crash<\/a>. As the day<\/span> was winding to a close,<\/span> a mini<\/span> snowball fight turned into batting\npractice....<\/p>\n\n

I'm sure I made a comical sight taking these shots. Normally when I take<\/span>\nshots while pitching to him (something I've done several times, but\napparently have never posted) I normally<\/span> hold the camera in the right hand\nand pitch with the left, but for whatever reason I didn't<\/span> do that this\ntime. Rather, I held the<\/span> camera in my left hand, arm curled underneath and\nhand wrapped comically up and around to just reach the shutter-release\nbutton. This allowed my right hand to be free to lob the snowballs.<\/p>\n\n

On the way back to the car, we passed through a small<\/span> area used for\novernight camping...<\/p>\n\n

My hair felt much<\/b> more messy, so much so that I was<\/span> disappointed\nwhen we got home and I found<\/span> that it looked so tame in the photo. At the time<\/span>, it felt as messy as Anthony's hair looked during\nlunch<\/a> (which is to say crazy-wild hat-hair messy<\/i>).<\/p>\n\n

The return home was somewhat crazy too, with lots of delays because\npeople without snow tires would find they got stuck on a hill<\/span> and would\njust stop, blocking the lane. Even a big<\/span>-rig truck stopped this way, on a\nfairly<\/span> steep hill, and cars with snow tires could pass only when the\noncoming traffic allowed, which was not often. The car a<\/span> few in front of me\ntried to pass, and fishtailed all over the place, but it must have been\nbecause he didn't have snow tires, because the car in front of me, and I,\nhad no problems (because I learned my lesson<\/a> about\nsnow tires two years ago).<\/p>\n\n

Then there were the folks on the two-lane highway doing 15mph where\n50mph was the reasonably safe speed, blocking everyone in a long<\/span> moving\ntraffic jam. Sigh.<\/p>\n\n

We finally made it home, and within five minutes Anthony was sound\nasleep for a well<\/span>-earned rest.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
