After getting ready for\nSanta<\/a>, Anthony went to bed at about 8:30pm. I happened<\/span> to wake up a bit<\/span>\nbefore 4am and noticed that Anthony was already up, had already confirmed\nthat Santa had visited, had already opened the small present he's allowed\nto open when he wakes up, had played with it, grown tired of it, and was\nentertaining himself with a video.<\/span> At 3:55am.<\/p>\n\n

With effort, against his protests of “I'm not tired!”, I got him<\/span> back to\nbed, and soon he was sleeping again. Me too.<\/p>\n\n

We had a nice little presents time, with Fumie's folks stopping by as\nwell. I went easy<\/span> with the camera, grabbing just a few<\/span> shots here and\nthere.<\/p>\n\n

I'd been joking for ages that his present from Mommy and Daddy should be\nsocks and underwear, since he needs both. He did not<\/span> like this idea, and\ninstead requested a particular<\/span> Lego® Star Wars™ toy.<\/p>\n\n

I did get him some socks and wrapped them up as a joke,<\/span> adding in there\nthe wild striped red ones as a further<\/span> joke. When he opened them and\nrealized what they were, he played along with the “wow, socks!” theme\nnicely. It was fun<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

One benefit to Christmas in Japan is that it's a normal<\/span> business day\n(it's a benefit,<\/span> at least, if you don't have to go out to a day<\/span> job).\nAround 6pm this evening, a package<\/span> arrived.... a bread<\/span> maker that I'd\nordered from Amazon Japan two days ago. My present<\/span> to myself. The first<\/span> loaf is cooking now, the timer telling me it'll be done at five minutes\npast midnight.
