Goodness, that sounds morbid, but I mean<\/span> it to be witty. (Note to self:\nif you have to explain that you're being witty, you're not.)<\/p>\n\n

Walking by the shared garden area of my condo today, I was impressed<\/span>\nthat there are still quite a few<\/span> colorful leaves left on the tree, and with\nthe lateness of the season and the inevitable march toward winter, the\nDarwin thought came to mind.<\/p>\n\n

My first thought was to take a picture of a dried,<\/span> curled leaf\nsurrounded by vibrant colorful ones...<\/p>\n\n

It was difficult getting a good angle because I was<\/span> limited in where I\ncould<\/span> shoot from. After a while<\/span> I realized<\/span> that a better<\/span> expression of the\nthought was a lone<\/span> vibrant leaf surrounded by withered leaves and bare\ntwigs, but the tree offered few opportunities for such a shot,<\/span> so I had<\/span> to\nstretch...<\/p>\n\n

Not having much opportunity composition wise, I threw<\/span> some vignettes on there to look “artsy”. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

It's been dipping down to freezing at night, which is pretty much as\ncold as it gets during the winter in my area of Kyoto. No snow yet<\/span>, and\nthere was no snow last year, but we had plenty of snow the previous year,\nso I've got the snow tires on the car (to avoid this hairy situation<\/a>).\nKyoto is pretty after a nice<\/span> snow, at least until traffic turns it to a dirty<\/span> mush,\nso here's looking forward to some snow this season...<\/p>\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
