The initial destination of my photo outing with Paul Barr yesterday (the\none where we discovered the workshop of Nishimura\nStone Lanterns<\/i><\/a>) was to visit the Nitenji Temple, nestled up in the\nmountains of north-east Kyoto, perched precariously over the ravine on the\nroad over to Otsu.<\/p>\n\n

After the outing, we returned to my place and I introduced<\/span> Lightroom to\nhim, and in using random photos from the day to demonstrate things you\ncould do within Lightroom's Develop module, I happened<\/span> upon the soft-focus\ncreamy effect you see above. I liked<\/span> the effect in this case, so I decided<\/span>\nto keep it. (It's fairly related to what I described<\/span> in “Funky Joy With\nAdobe Lightroom<\/a>”, and close in effect to the “Artsy-Fartsy 1<\/span>” photo on\n“Cherry\nBlossoms in the Rain at the Heian Shrine, Part 2<\/a>”)<\/p>\n\n

I'll post a proper writeup of the Nitenji Temple when I have<\/span> more energy\nanother day, but I wanted<\/span> to post something tonight, so here are a few<\/span>\nshots from the temple grounds...<\/p>\n\n
