Anthony got a new<\/span>\ncousin<\/a> today, but last week got a new<\/span> member of his own little family,\na stuffed<\/span> plush pig he's named Buta-chan<\/i> (\u3076\u305f\u3061\u3083\u3093, which essentially means\n“Little Piggy” in Japanese). He's a gift<\/span> from one of Fumie's ballet\nfriends, Aoyama-san, who has never met Anthony, but sort of fell in love\nwith him via my blog.<\/p>\n\n

George and Buta-chan became fast friends, so I may<\/span> need to get another\nplush-toy passport<\/a>. As I write<\/span> this,\nAnthony, George, and Buta-chan are all sleeping together.<\/p>\n\n

Anthony learns one new kanji (“Chinese character”) a day<\/span> in school, and\nit just so happened that today's was “\u9752” (blue \/ spring green), the “Ao”\nof Buta-chan's benefactor, Aoyama-san. He's already<\/span> had the character for\n“yama” (\u5c71, mountain), so on his practice paper earlier this evening, he\ncould use her name as an example word (\u9752\u5c71\u3055\u3093),\n<\/span> which he did and thought was cool.<\/p>\n\n
