The event's name means\n&#8220;seven, five, three&#8221;, and represent the ages when you add <span class='nobr'>a\nyear<\/span> to account for their time in the womb.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Heian Shrine near our place is very popular for this, and last year\n<span class='nobr'>I would<\/span> sometimes just hang out around the shrine during and photograph the kids,\nthe results of which I've posted in\n&#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/2008-11-12\/994\" class='quiet'>Kids in Kimono: Cute Enough to Eat<\/a>&#8221;,\n&#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/2008-11-14\/997\" class='quiet'>More Kids in Kimono: Still Cute<\/a>&#8221;,\nand one section of\n&#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/2008-11-15\/998#005088\" class='quiet'>How <span class='nobr'>I Spent<\/span> My Saturday in Kyoto<\/a>&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n<p>This time it was <i>my<\/i> kid, who is far cuter than the others (of\ncourse), so <span class='nobr'>I did<\/span> my fair share of photography, and then some. <span class='nobr'>I used two<\/span>\ncamera bodies and three lenses, but <span class='nobr'>I didn't<\/span> get many photos &ndash; only\n508 &ndash; because photography was not allowed within the inner areas of\nthe shrine itself. <span class='nobr'>Of the 508<\/span> photos, about 100 vie for status as my\nfavorite. <span class='nobr'>I foresee<\/span> many postings on this in my blog's future.<\/p>\n\n<p><i><a href=\"\/blog\/2009-10-13\/1329\" class='quiet'>Continued here...<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As I mentioned the other day, today Anthony had his first shichi-go-san event, an important milestone in Japanese culture for kids aged six, four and two.
