But he's not so big that he's no longer\ngleeful when he's successful, so it still is somewhat of an &#8220;event&#8221; that\nhe's generally happy about.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nYet, for some reason (probably because he's <span class='nobr'>a kid<\/span>) he's often is reluctant\nto use the toilet. For example, this evening before bed, as <span class='nobr'>I always<\/span> do, <span class='nobr'>I\nsaid<\/span> &#8220;let's make <span class='nobr'>a pee<\/span>-pee before we sleep&#8221; to which he\nresponded (as he always does) &#8220;<span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> want to&#8221;. This is our\nclassic evening dance. <span class='nobr'>He also chimed<\/span> in with &#8220;<span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> need to make\npee-pee&#8221;, although not as defiantly as he is sometimes prone to do.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nWell, <span class='nobr'>I have a<\/span> rule that says he can't have <span class='nobr'>a final<\/span> glass of milk before\nbed if he doesn't at least try to make <span class='nobr'>a pee<\/span>-pee first, so, as always, <span class='nobr'>I\nsaid<\/span> &#8220;Well, it's your choice; try to make <span class='nobr'>a pee<\/span>-pee and then have\nmilk, or just go to bed with no pee-pee and no milk. Which would you\nlike?&#8221; As always, he looks down and mutters &#8220;make\npee-pee&#8221;.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nWe then head off to the toilet, and by the time we get there he's forgotten\nhis angst and is energetic about it. <span class='nobr'>He takes<\/span> off his pants and underwear\n(which <span class='nobr'>I check<\/span> for &#8220;\u3057\u3071\u3044&#8221; &mdash; <i>shippai<\/i>, <span class='nobr'>a pee<\/span>-pee &#8220;accident&#8221;), climbs\nup on the toilet and proceeds to make <span class='nobr'>a little<\/span> tinkle.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nAt the sound of his tinkle, <span class='nobr'>I make a<\/span> bright and happy face and say\n&#8220;See, you could do it!&#8221;\n<\/p><p>\n\n\nHe said &#8220;<b>Don't say 'See'. <span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> like you say 'See'!<\/b>&#8221;\n\n<\/p><p>\n\n\nOops, my bad! <span class='nobr'>I guess<\/span> he took is as an &#8220;<span class='nobr'>I told<\/span> you so!&#8221; <span class='nobr'>I\napologized<\/span> profusely.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nLater on after his milk, <span class='nobr'>I was brushing<\/span> his teeth. <span class='nobr'>I was tired<\/span> and wanted\nto get him down, and so commented that <span class='nobr'>I was<\/span> going to brugh his teeth\nquickly. <span class='nobr'>As I was<\/span> brushing, the toothbrush slipped off the teeth <span class='nobr'>a bit<\/span> and\ntapped his gum or something. <span class='nobr'>It's not the<\/span> slightest big deal, as it happens\nall the time, but he latched onto it and said &#8220;<b>See, you do it\nfast and you bump here.<\/b>&#8221;\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nIt took all my power not to smile. From the repremanding tone of his voice,\nhe'd probably just been itching to use &#8220;See&#8221; and finally had\nhis chance.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nWell, I see!\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> Anthony is a big kid (approaching 3 years 3 months) and can use the toilet to make a pee-pee all by himself.
