#7 in a series on our visit to KidZania in\nNishinomiya, Japan<\/a>. Anthony's day so far:\ngas-station attendant<\/a>, banking<\/a>,\nconstruction<\/a>,\ndriver's ed<\/a>,\nand journalism<\/a>. Next it was time\nfor a bit<\/span> of flight training.<\/p>\n\n

Kidzania's flight-training area also had a plane<\/span> mockup for\nflight-attendant training, as well as for kids to take part as customers,\ngiving the flight attendants people to train with...<\/p>\n\n

Anthony was interested in pilot training. That area of the “school” had\nsix mock cockpits, so 12 kids could “train” at once...<\/p>\n\n\n

When it was time for a new group, the kids got flight jackets and the\nhair nets, but didn't get to put on the hats until after a minute<\/span> or two of\nbasic instruction.<\/p>\n\n

Then it was time for some on-the-job flight training in a jumbo<\/span> jet.\nUpon push back from the gate, they waved goodbye to the ground staff that\napparently appeared on the video monitors of the flight simulator...<\/p>\n\n

As they flew, computer-generated rings of dots floated in air, which\nprovided targets for the kids to aim at and fly through. You can sort<\/span> of\nsee one in the left-hand monitor of this next shot. (Since adults weren't\nallowed in the training area, and the lighting was totally ridiculous, it\nwas a difficult<\/span> stretch to get a reasonable<\/span> picture.)<\/p>\n\n

We later picked up the $10 copy of the photo they took, and it's not\nmuch better than the one above, except that it doesn't have the\nphotographer and other kid in it. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n
