Well, thought I'd be releasing a new<\/span> plugin for\nAdobe Lightroom<\/a> today, but ran into a roadblock<\/span> that killed it at the\nend. Sigh. So, I've decided to take the evening off from plugin development\nand get back to my story of our recent trip to\nIshigaki Island<\/a>. It's part of<\/span> Okinawa Prefecture, but is 400 miles\nfurther south-west from the main Okinawa island, just shy of Taiwan.<\/p>\n\n

It was a short but photogenic trip. Today's story picks up in the\nafternoon of Day 2, with Day 2's morning<\/a> already\nposted, as well as a mid<\/span>-day trip to a secluded<\/span> beach (Part I<\/a> ·<\/span> Part\nII<\/a>).<\/span> The beach was about half way up the 13-mile-long peninsula\nthat makes up the north-east of the island, and so we continued along\ntoward the end of the peninsula to the Hirakubo Lighthouse.<\/p>\n\n

The weather was iffy, with a threat of rain at any moment. Above the\nlighthouse was a rocky<\/span> hill, upon which the dynamic weather made for some\npowerful wind.<\/p>\n\n

I actually liked the lighting and the wind (though it wasn't as windy as\nthis\nincredibly windy day on Amami Island<\/a>), but after a while<\/span> the clouds parted and the sun\ncame out, and everything changed...<\/p>\n\n

The little five-car parking lot is sandwiched between two tall hills,\nthe shorter of which we had just been on. The taller<\/span> of the two was off\nlimits, with a fence<\/span> and an “Entrance Prohibited” sign in front of a\nwell<\/span>-worn path heading up...<\/p>\n\n

Having seen the sunset from a\ndifferent<\/span> Lighthouse<\/a> the previous evening, we wanted to get back to our\nhotel to see the sunset from its beach. There are few other pairs of\nlocations farther apart on Ishigaki Island than our hotel and were we were\nnow, so we hopped in the car and hightailed it back...<\/p>\n\n
