However, their food sometimes\noffered me, as an English speaker, <span class='nobr'>a bit<\/span> of extra entertainment.<\/p>\n\n<p>The label above was on one of the items in the breakfast buffet. <span class='nobr'>I redacted<\/span> out the name of the dish in Japanese. <span class='nobr'>Can you guess<\/span> what the\noriginal Japanese was?<\/p>\n\n<p>Here are two hints:<\/p>\n\n<ul>\n\n  <li>It was clear from my overall experience at the hotel that they used\nmachine translation (that is, computer non-human translation) for their\nmenus. <span class='nobr'>One menu had<\/span> &#8220;Popsicle&#8221; as the translation for what should have been\n&#8220;Pepsi-Cola&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n <li><span class='nobr'>I understood<\/span> the Japanese just as little as the English.<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>( Getting shots like this are why <span class='nobr'>I bring<\/span> my camera most everywhere \ud83d\ude42 )<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I mentioned in my previous post that our hotel on Ishigaki Island in the far south of Japan had only \"okay\" food.
