Having a kid in elementary school<\/a> means a new<\/span> set of hours for the\nparents, and as part of that I found<\/span> myself wandering around outside after\nreturning from school. (Parents accompany first graders to school for the\nfirst few days; there are no school busses, so the vast majority of kids\ntake the subway or bus, all by themselves, so the parents go for the first\nfew days to ensure they're settled.)<\/p>\n\n

I got off the bus one stop early to walk around the grounds of the\nmunicipal museum of art, which is pretty this time of year. (Clicking on\nthe “nearby photos” link under the picture above yields lots of\ncherry-blossom pictures from previous years.)<\/p>\n\n

As s I've\nmentioned before<\/a>, the blossoms are sort of off this year, some having\ncome earlier and some later....<\/p>\n\n

Looking into the sun back toward these same trees made for a hazy<\/span> picture, but\nsort of nice nevertheless...<\/p>\n\n

Certainly, nicer than the gloomy\nscene from last week<\/a> shot in this same location.<\/p>\n\n

Over toward the cherry trees near my place, which were at their peak\nlast week<\/a>, they're now winding down...<\/p>\n\n
