Remembering it when <span class='nobr'>I took<\/span> the same route this\nlast Sunday, <span class='nobr'>I stopped<\/span> by for some pictures.<\/p>\n\n<p>I know of one other shrine gate in the water, the much larger, much more\nfamous <a class='quiet' href=\"\/blog\/2007-10-28\/616\">gate\nof the Itsukushima Shrine<\/a> on <a class='quiet'\nhref=\"\/blog\/2007-10-11\/603\">Miyajima<\/a>, not far from\nHiroshima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On my way up to the ski area for Anthony's first ski experience, I stopped by the Shirohige Shrine on the shores of Lake Biwa (Japan's largest lake, about a third larger than Lake Tahoe).
