Ryouanji <span class='nobr'>(\u9f8d\u5b89\u5bfa<\/span> &mdash; the Ryouan\nTemple) is <span class='nobr'>a small<\/span> temple tucked in near the mountains in the north-west\npart of Kyoto, near its more famous tourist-spot brother, Kinkakuji <span class='nobr'>\n(\u91d1\u95a3\u5bfa<\/span> &mdash; the Golden Pavilion).\n\n<\/p><p>A week ago when the fall colors were in their peak, we went back and\nwere re-astounded at how beautiful it was. <span class='nobr'>My previous<\/span> post of a <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2005-11-30\/106\">wonderful fall scene at\nRyouanji<\/a> is from that trip, and this time I'll show <span class='nobr'>a few<\/span> more.\n\n<\/p><p>We were also astounded at how uncrowded it still was &mdash; compare with\nthe madhouse <span class='nobr'>I described<\/span> in <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2005-11-29\/105\">an earlier post about\nNanzenji<\/a>.\n\n<\/p>\n\n<h2>Comparison: Summer and Fall at Ryouanji<\/h2>\n\n<p>\nHere are a few pairs of photos, from roughly the same vantage points....\n<\/p>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\">\n.t { border: solid 1px gray;
