I like to post about Anthony opening and playing with presents he\nreceives, both because I like<\/span> to keep it as a happy<\/span> memory, and to share\nthe joy with the gift-giver. It's been more<\/span> than a month<\/span> since Anthony turned six years\nold<\/a> and it's been on my mind to share some shots of when he opened the\npresents from Grandma and Grandpa.<\/p>\n\n

We opened just the one on one night, then the rest the next night. On the second<\/span> night, the combination of fluorescent lighting above and an\nincandescent lamp to the side made for some pretty odd (and oddly striking)\nlighting....<\/p>\n\n

The package with a picture of a Space<\/span> Shuttle indicated a rocket,<\/span> but\nexcept for the picture, nothing else really seemed to jive with the whole\n“rocket” idea, so he wasn't sure what to make of it. It would<\/span> have helped\nclarify things if he could have read the Freeze-Dried Ice Cream<\/b>\nlabel.<\/p>\n\n

Another present was a “spy periscope”, which he thought was just amazing.<\/p>\n\n

He's often pretended that he had such a device,<\/span> for example, in this picture<\/a>\npretending a stick<\/span> was a periscope<\/span> for spying on some geese. Now, actually having one,\nhe was beside himself with enjoyment, here spying on Mommy while she makes a silly<\/span> face...<\/p>\n\n
