I quite like the post I published on Saturday evening (How I Spent<\/span> My Saturday in\nKyoto<\/a>), and was sort of disappointed not to get any comments on it.<\/p>\n\n

I did get some comments on the followup, More From the Eikando Temple\nFoliage Lightup<\/a>, including one that mentioned that the link to the\nSaturday post was broken. The links<\/span> worked fine for me, and “Dmitry” didn't\ninclude any contact info with the comment for me to follow up with, so I\njust<\/span> deleted the comment as spurious.<\/p>\n\n

18+ hours later, I received a followup<\/span>\ncomment<\/a> from Dmitry about the broken link, but this time with an email\naddress, so at least I could<\/span> reply. As I was<\/span> preparing a “the links work\nfine for me” response, I thought<\/span> to check one more thing..... and found\nthat they were broken when I checked<\/span> with a command<\/span>-line HTML\nvalidater. Oops!<\/p>\n\n

Thirty minutes of head-scratching later (at 1:30 in the morning) I\nfinally<\/span> figured out that the post was marked “private” in my blog software,\nbut since I'm logged in as the blog owner, I get to<\/span> see the post anyway. No one else<\/span> can. Doh! I toggled<\/span> that switch to “public” and now everyone\nshould be able to see it:<\/p>\n\n
