Hi Jeff,
It’s been awhile but here I am again. I upgraded LR to 4.1 RC2 and the trials have all expired, I just finished the donating process on the first plugin, it worked on my mac laptop but on my windows desktop, there’s no button to click to enter the registration code. After looking at the other plugins, one shows a “registration needed type message” where the button is supposed to be. I checked in LR and the “lightroom registration” is now greyed out and it doesn’t show my serial number like how it shows on my mac, have no clue how that happened. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

You’re seeing an odd and inconvenient effect of the RC builds. They don’t allow you to enter a serial, so if you had not entered your Lr4 serial with Lr4.0, you’re blocked out from doing so until you upgrade (or downgrade) to a version that lets you. One idea is to install the 4.0 build from the main Lightroom site, enter your serial number and register the plugins, then re-install the 4.1RC. —Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey from Monroe, NY. I had downloaded your plug in for Zenfolio last year sometime and didn’t really use it. However now I have taken a course on using Lightroom 4 where your plug in was mentioned and I remembered that I had installed it, but not really used it. Well now I’m in a position to take advantage of the plug in. I had to upgrade my registration to take full advantage of it. I am pleased to report that it was a good decision to do that, and I happily make a contribution to you. Thank you very much, it saves me so much time with my workflow.

Great plugin. Next time I’ll pony up more than 10.00 (need a job first). Its worth more. A real time saver and your competition’s plugin did not work for at all. Good luck.

Hi Jeffrey,

I just wanted to thank you for your great GPS-Plugin for Lightroom. I’m a landscape photographer and use a GPS-Tracker to geotag my pictures.

I upgraded to LR4 today and found, that your plugin still works, but has to be re-registered. I don’t mind, you even suggest a 1 Cent donation. I gave you another 10$ anyway.

Your plugin saves me a lot of time logging where I took my pictures. That’s worth another donation.

I have made the donation and obtained the registration code for your plugin for Smugmug for Lightroom 3. Smugmug appears in the Plug in Manager, but I cannot obtain the Smugmug window showing the registration code window. Any suggestions?

Are you sure that Lightroom itself is registered (not in the free-trial mode), and that you’re looking at my SmugMug plugin in the plugin manager and not perhaps Adobe’s? —Jeffrey

Great, looking forward to using this plugin a lot and I just donated $10 – thanks. Question – I’m just trying to use it and it looks like there is a new version available but I cant update it. It says that it is in a location where lightroom cant find it and if I can’t give it permissions then I’ll have to do a manual upgrade. It’s not clear how to do a manual upgrade and for some reason in the plugin manager, I can’t remove it when I select it (to reinstall). Thanks, Mike…

If you can’t remove it from the plugin manager, it must be in Lightroom’s system area, so the only way to remove it is to delete it from disk. (Its location on disk is available in the middle-right section of the plugin manager). Normal manual install instructions are on the plugin’s home page. Thanks for your kind gift(!) —Jeffrey

I gladly paid a$10 registration fee for you when I upgraded to LR4. I’ve been using your tools for years and they are wonderful. Wish that I could pay more but I just lost my job.

The upgrade process is so straight-forward. I’m not sure how anyone can be confused.

Sorry, I read your info above and I DO NOT quite understand what you are saying. It’s vague to me. Please clarify.

I have purchased a license for several of your excellent plugins and have been using them in LR3. I now have LR4. What do I do to make them fully functional in LR4?

You say I need to re-register them. Does that mean I can use my past paypal transaction ID for this? Or do I have to purchase/donate again?

There’s no “purchase” or “license” involved with the plugin, only “purchase” with respect to the fee you pay PayPal if/when you create a registration code. Registration codes tie a plugin to a specific Lightroom serial number, and since an upgrade from Lr3 to Lr4 causes your serial number to change, you need to generate a new code if you want the registration to remain. This will cost at least one cent at PayPal. More than the cost, there’s the pain of the hassle factor, sorry. You’ll run into the same thing in a couple of years when Lr5 is released. Sorry. —Jeffrey
