Hi Jeffrey,
I have done everything up to the authentication.
Facebook page comes up and says I am logged ina bus business account and I need to change to my personal account?

The plug in manager says Ckecking.........
But it is on that for 10 min or so?

What next.
I'm on a Imac LR v:4.0

I'm not sure what you're referring to with the "Checking..." thing, but perhaps email me a screenshot, or send a log. —Jeffrey

Mark As Published... you keep saying it's there in Lightroom 4. But I just can't find it. I feel really dumb but I am looking! In my smart collection, I am right clicking on the image that was previously uploaded to facebook, but I just don't see the option.
I have 648 photos that want to get reuploaded that don't need to! Apart from that, excellent plugin.

The thumbnail, when in the "Modified Photos to Re-Publish" section of Grid, should have "Mark as Up-To-Date" in its context menu. —Jeffrey

I was wondering, is there any way to enable High Quality uploading through the plugin? Sometimes I have to manually export a photo and upload it using facebook's tools to maintain quality and keep jpg noise from being an issue.

You can set the upload size as you like in the export/publish settings.... larger is "high quality", smaller is not. I'm sure "High Quality" in Facebook's uploader means "downsize the image less than we normally would". —Jeffrey

Jeffrey,
I just started using your plugin after being moderately dissatisfied with the built-in plugin - my biggest complaint being that I lost the collections of all my Facebook albums after migrating to a new LR catalog. Now that I have your Plugin, it seems that Lightroom will pay a little more nicely with Facebook's albums.

As you've noted, Facebook does not support "republish" to update existing photos. As I populate the Collections in your plugin, is there a way to mark them as already published, to prevent uploading a second copy of everything that's already there?

I can right-click and "Mark to Republish" but I don't see a way to "Mark as already published."

Thanks!
- Nathan

It's there in Lr4, but in Lr3 its hidden away in the "File > Plugin Extras > Facebook Extras" dialog. —Jeffrey

Hello, I am using LR3 and I have not had any problems publishing photos from LR3 to Facebook until I installed the LR4beta.

The error that I received is: An internal error has occurred:?:0: attempt to concatenate field"name"(a nil value).

Can I fix this?

That's not my plugin, that's the one that came with Lightroom. It was due to a mistake at Facebook, which they quickly fixed, so it should be fine now. —Jeffrey

Hi Jeff! Great plugin - thanks a ton! Just upgraded to Lightroom 3.6 and downloaded your latest Fb Export Plugin 20120214.192 (and registered it), but looks like I can't drag pics from my Library to the albums on my FB.
The jf Facebook lists my albums, some of them with the two arrow icon and some with the little gear wheel on them, not sure why.

Anyway - am I missing anything? Any cluse are welcomed!

thanks for this GREAT plugin!!

The gear icon means that it's a smart collection, and indeed you can't drag images to it because inclusion is controlled by rules that you set up for the collection. The double-arrow ones are normal publish collections that you should indeed be able to drop images into from the library grid. —Jeffrey

Thanks for this service! Also, your responsiveness on this blog has been great.

I've seen intermittent issues with the upload failing, and I'm not sure what the cause might be. If it's multiple images it might only post a few of them. I can publish again, and it will seem to go through on the second or third attempt. In some cases, it will fail, but the image will actually be on FB - then obviously if I publish again, I have redundant images.

Have you seen/heard about this?

Thanks!

Not specifically, but it sounds typical of networking issues (with your system, your ISP, or Facebook). Perhaps reboot your router? —Jeffrey

I'm working with your plugin and Lightroom 3.4.1. It seems to work, though it's a bit cumbersome and far from straightforward, but that's due to me being a newby with Lightroom and the oddities of FB much more than your coding. Anyhow, I have two photo pages on FB, for simplicity I'll call them NEW and OLD. Would it be possible to use your plugin to download the photos and comments from the OLD page so that I can upload them to the NEW page? I'd like to move everything over from OLD to NEW and there is no easy way to do that.

Thanks.

You can't really copy comments because Facebook would consider YOU as the author of them all. I think the Adobe built-in plugin makes some attempt to do this copying, but to me it's just another example of why Facebook is too weak in its photo handling to be supported by Lightroom's Publish. —Jeffrey

hey im using LR 3.4.1, and im not seeing the "facebook delete options" panel. thanks for any help you can provide, let me know if there's more info i can give to help you out!

Facebook, for reasons one can only speculate on, explicitly removed the ability for third-party apps to delete photos. It seems I neglected to update the docs, sorry. I'll do it soon. —Jeffrey
