Thanks To Apple, Those Hard Times are Behind Us Now
It used to be the way you take better pictures is you learn to be a better photographer

Photography has always been about light and vision. Technology can change how we capture/display images, but that doesn’t and can’t teach us to see.

A picture worth sharing can be captured by a camera to produce a photograph but it is created in the mind of a human being.

Schiller also could have let the iPhone write a smarter speech for him.

What did I miss out on Mr. Schiller; did Apple change the entire world while I was napping? Are you so full of yourself and your technology as to suggest that I no longer have to learn, to think, to imagine or envision what my finished work will look like?? I am surprised that such a small minded comment would come from an Apple executive.
Disappointed in south Florida….

Perhaps they should hire Stevie Wonder to endorse the iPhone’s camera?

Prior to the age of digital cameras… As I was learning to shoot with film, the cost of the film and processing was always in the back of my mind. The cost translated into terms of choosing what to shoot, and limiting the exposure bracketing, bottom line I didn’t experiment as much as I would have liked.

When I got into the navy I worked as a command photographer, I had a budget that allowed me to experiment a lot more and I grew as a photographer. Once I got out of the navy, I was back to a limited budget.

The true transformation for me was digital cameras. Now I can shoot dozens of different angles, different exposures, etc.

I hear comments from professional complaining that now everyone calls themselves a photographer, regardless of training. I see it in a different light…. Digital maks it easy to expiring, ment, try new things and learn, to develop your own style. The amount of good online tutorials, training videos, etc are a huge assist for someone who wants to learn. Finally software makes it easier to get the look you want. Remember , Ansel Adams spent as much time on making the print as he did the negative. He had to dodge and burn each time he did a new print. Luckily we have software that allows us to store multiple versions of a single master
