This was a really touching sequence of photos. Very nicely done. I also applaud your courage – I probably would have been too afraid to take photos like these at the distances that you did. (Then again, maybe people in Japan aren’t as paranoid as Americans are about people taking their photos, especially if it’s a male photographer taking photos of children.)

No courage evident here… I don’t think the dad really even noticed me. If he did, I would have just smiled in a “your child is adorable” way. I know the kind of street-photographer courage/gumption/boldness you’re talking about, but I don’t have (nor necessarily want) that. —Jeffrey

Nicely captured, Jeffrey. Your photos tell an excellent story, one which many parents of young ones will appreciate. I know I certainly smiled remembering my experiences walking with my little ones.
