Three and a half months ago, after a lot of research and Lightroom plugin development, I published the long writeup “How To Best Export Lightroom Images to an iPad, iPhone, Etc.”, about my Lightroom-to-iPad workflow at the time.
It's now completely out of date.
Most everything about my workflow has changed, all of it for the better. It's required months of development, a new Lightroom plugin (Collection Publisher) and major updates to my Crop for iPad plugin, but the result, unlike before, is something smooth and easy.
I'm still looking for the perfect photo-presentation app for my iPad, but my new workflow is ready for it when I find it.

How does the addition of the “iPhoto” app affect your Lightroom to iPad workflow? If I use iPhoto on my iPad 3 (inbound) and iPhone 4, will all the plugins and settings work the same?

I don’t know anything about the iPhoto app. (I have little interest in editing photos on my iPad, and it looks to be overkill as a simple display tool, but who knows, maybe it’ll be great. Won’t run on my iPad 1, though.) —Jeffrey

I’m still getting LR4 setup, plugins reinstalled, etc. Once the work pace slows down a bit and the new iPad gets here I’ll let you know how things go. The journal publishing feature is what attracted me to iPhoto; I also don’t envision using the editing tools except for the occasional photos I take with the iPad. I don’t always have my D300 with me…
