As Howard and anonymous said, go with Bootcamp: it’s the only way to play games.

virtualbox is a decent option to try and its free, and its has support for 3D graphics. Can't even copy files from an install CD with VirtualBox, due to a longstanding bug with their stuff. Oh well. —Jeffrey

If virtualbox works for Macs, try that. I think their latest version has support for 3D acceleration.

I find Bootcamp the only way to really get games working reliably and with decent performance. I know it is nicer to run both OSX and Windows at the same time, and Fusion does that well for me for everything other than games or video card intensive programs.

Both of these programs look like they may use 3D graphics. It may be that VMware/Parallels do not yet have good enough graphics emulation.

Bootcamp (dual boot) may be an easier option since it can get direct access to the GPU. Installation is not such a pain, since it can resize disk partitions (even the boot one) if you forgot to leave a spare one.
