I was stationed in Japan in 1974 and 1975 with the U.S. Marines at Iwakuni air station. I was an air traffic controller there and fell in love with Japan. It took me over 30 years to return last year for the Tokyo marathon. Now I am interested in a trail run in Amami. I have been researching this and came across your website. Thank you for showing me just how beautiful Japan really is! I have enjoyed your photos, family and quotes the past few days.
