Hello, good day and okairinasai. Your blog is really wonderful. I enjoy reading it very much. I have one question for this post and it may just sound very silly, but I am curious. Why is it that you didn't go home together with your family on the day you arrived Kansai airport?

The reason is still the same as when answered the same question last year: by the time I got out of customs and immigration, I had been awake and traveling for 23 hours. To face another two-hour drive cramped in a car (with a kid who has an inversely-proportional amount of energy) is just too much to handle, at least when there's such an easy way out. By getting a room at the on-airport hotel, I buy myself some sanity. I can be showered and asleep in 15 minutes. It's much more refreshing. —Jeffrey
