Hi Jeffrey,

I've just recently bought a 70-200 VR myself and am trying to figure out if it's soft at f/2.8.
I was wondering if you'd be willing to take some test shots for comparison?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Lorenzo

P.S. Maybe you could contact me by e-mail?

I thought much the same thing as the first poster - the photo's look like they're miniature. The reason's to do with us associating such a small depth of field with small objects, since depth of field increases as you focus towards infinity.

It can be done intentionally to existing photos in Photoshop.

I see you have made amends for that rice field photo I didn't like a few days ago. ^.^ I really like the first image. The first person is right, it does look like you went into a miniaturized world. Perhaps like Alice, you too, ate a cookie! ;-)

Congrats

Hey Jeff — saw your post over on Zach's blog about me. Made me smile remembering all the old craziness of Yahoo. See you are in Japan now — very cool (I lived in Tokyo for a year back in the early 90's). Hope all is well!

Wow, colorful for sure ;)
For some reason they look miniature, like shots of doll house accessories!

I just got my 70-200VR myself, I gotta say: it's a SWEET lens! ;)
