Gakuden Train Station, Furano Japan

While driving around on our trip to Furano, Hokkaido during Golden Week, we came across the smallest train station I've ever seen. Heck, I've seen larger bus stops.

It was at the junction of Nowhere and Boondocks, near where a road crossed the train tracks. Here's the view one direction from the road....

Hi Jeffrey,

Could I please use your picture (looking southwest) on a Security Awareness Poster I’m creating at work. The title will be – ‘stay on the right track – follow company policy’ with your picture below.
It’s a great picture by the way – really beautiful surroundings and great composition.
The poster will only be used in our Council offices and I can credit you for the picture if you’d prefer.
(Also I didn’t read all of your blog (sorry) but have you ever been to England? We’ve got much smaller stations than this!)
I hope you’ll agree to let us use this picture.

Many Thanks in advance

Gina

Hi Jeffrey. Writing to you from Peacehaven in England. Found your site by putting Playrail trains in search box. I am busy building a tomy tomica model railway layout for exhibition at a Rotary fund raising event in February. Have been wrestling with the problems of building elevated track and had never thought of using lego before. Thank you very much for the idea. Is your son still into trains or has he moved onto girls, computers and motor bikes. Regards. Henry.

When I went to Shiga-ken last August (East of Biwa Lake), I took a train from a station which looked like this one. More nostalgia for me. I’ll send the link of this page to the friend I visited back then.
