Anthony Getting Out of Line

The Sports Day at Anthony's preschool had many events for the various ages. This was nice, but it also meant that the kids had to sometimes sit off to the side, when their age group wasn't having an event.

Overall, all the kids of all the age groups behaved themselves just wonderfully.

There was one time, though, when Anthony (exactly a month shy of turning four years old) got a bit, uh, boisterous while one of the older groups was doing a running event. I was standing across the field, watching his innocence and joy with great joy of my own, but as his antics escalated, I started to worry just a bit that he might get out of hand.

This went on for about a minute....

Anthony and Kana getting busted by the teacher for creating too much of a ruckus
Anthony and Kana stinging from getting busted by the teacher for having created too much of a ruckus
dang, got busted!

I noticed later that the teacher had moved him away from Kana, the girl he'd been sitting next to (on our right, in the red shorts). He gets along with everyone well, but sometimes Anthony and Kana can be a particularly silly combination, as we see from time to time.

Surrounded by girls only … that’s what I dream of day and night :-) )
In Germany we have a saying for this: Anthony ist der Hahn im Korb.
He is the rooster of the roost.

For those that don’t know Thomas, it helps to know that he has a wife and two daughters (aged 3 and 5), so view his “that’s what I dream of day and night” comment in that light :D

Wife plus two daughters, aged 6 and 4. I understand where Thomas is coming from. :-)

That’s a great series of pictures. I suspect that Anthony is closer to a type-A personality than a type-B. Daughter number one has been described as a double-A personality by my brother-in-law.

Sittin’ Pretty!

Looks like he’s doing just fine at school. And Doshisha seems to be the Pepperdine of Kyoto, with all the prettiest girls, so he should be all set as he gets older.
