Sick again… third time this year!

Two weeks ago I complained that I was sick of being sick, and the very next day I felt great. Well I'm sick again, so maybe complaining will help again?

I started to have a mild cold on Thursday, and just this morning I was thinking that I'm finally better when boom, this afternoon it takes a nosedive and now I feel more miserable than before. Yuck.

So here goes again: I'm sick of being sick!!!!!!

Hi Bro.
Having spent the last 16 years almost constantly exposed to high intensity cooties while working ER, I had become fairly bullet proof, cold wise. Usually one bad cold a year for a week or so, and then I’d be fine until the next season.
But my resistance must be down. I have spent at least 8 or 9 weeks of the eight months of pregnancy with at least three different versions of viral crud – coughs, sore throats, and marathon running nose, not including the lovely stomach flu episode which required IV rehydration. I am also severely limited in what kind of medications I can take, which rather sucks.
On the good side, though, I at least have the considerable comfort of knowing how much better it is to just have an annoying cold then say, gestational diabetes or pregnancy induced hypertension, or any of the myriad of actually dangerous things that can happen during pregnancy. And as long as the baby keeps growing as big and strong as the doc assures me he/she is, I can cheerfully reach for the Kleenex and thank God things are going as well as they are. And if by having all the colds/coughs/crud now, I’ll build up an immunity to these viruses so that I’ll NOT have them while I’m caring for an infant, then BRING IT ON! 🙂
